Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams accepted the Bethlehem 2000 medal from Yassir Arafat on the same day that a Palestinian homicide bomber blew up a bus in Jerusalem and killed 10 people.
Just visiting the murderous bastard is bad enough, but by accepting the award, Williams lends the support of the Church of England to an organization whose goal is to drive the Jews into the sea.
The office of the Archbishop of Canterbury has achieved complete moral bankruptcy.
Incidentally, I can’t find much about the Bethlehem 2000 medal. Previous recipients include the parents of Rachel Corrie, Boris Yeltsin and Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. I also haven’t found anything that gives details on why Williams was given this award. Perhaps it’s in recognition of his opposition to Israel’s security fence.
