For me, it’s just another normal evening. Studying for a test tomorrow. Reading various inane online discussions. Eating snacks. Taking the occasional “study break.” A school night by any other name.
But in reality, it’s anything but routine. What passes these days as a declaration of war has been given. The bombs have started falling. The boots are laced up and ready to hit the ground. Gulf War II, or the Battle of Iraq, or whatever they’re calling it is officially in progress.
You just wouldn’t think it to look at the sleepy mixture of clouds and stars in tonight’s sky. This world is changing, but what do the stars know of it? They’ll still be there, continuing along in their finely tuned choreography no matter what happens down here in the next few weeks. I guess this evening I’d rather think on a cosmic scale than on a global scale.
