Version 3.00 of w.bloggar has been released. It appears to be working okay with my Movable Type installation (this is my first w.bloggar test post). One thing I notice straight away is that it doesn’t appear to have support for MT’s excerpt functionality (which I use for the dynamic tagline on my front page), but that in itself isn’t a huge problem. The UI is functional, if a little cluttered with icons that I’m not likely to use much (since I generally format my code with tags as I go along). Being a Windows based client, it’s more convenient to use than logging into MT every time I want to update something; having said that, I often keep a MT browser window open anyway. We’ll have to see if it takes…
UPDATE: Hmm. No extended entry option. I’m not seeing anything related to TrackBack. Hmm.
what’s new in 3?
This is the first time I’ve used it, since I heard that previous versions were patchy in their interaction with MT. The website has more details about what features are new and improved.
Dean Peters at HealYourChurchWebsite seems to have a few difficulties with it in MT. Then again, he may have tinkered around and fixed them. I may try it when I see favourable responses and reviews. Blog on!
